I was born in North Yorkshire in October, 1956, and spent the my ealy years living withe my parents in Middlesborough, in the winter of 1963 we moved to the Bristol area. I left school and went to college for two years before enlisting in the Royal Air Force and serving in Germany, Scotland and Northern Ireland, at the time of the Maze Prison hunger strikes.

After leaving the Royal Air Force, I spent fourtteen years working in the Bristol Museums service before being made redundant. From as early as my school days, I have wanted to be a writer, and it wasn't until the summer of 2011, when I became disabled through an injury that I had the chance to try and achieve my dream.

Although my reputation was made writing ghost stories, in recent times I have started writing for the children's charity The Peacock Writers. I am not known as a genre-writer, my work covers all genres, and at times mixes genres within a story. A new aspect to my work is the success of the Sci-Fi series "Forgestriker" on Draft2Digital.

In 2012, my book "Chronicles of Mark Johnson" was awarded the seal of excellence by the US non-profit organisation - indiePENdents.org.
